We were staying at this beautifull place with 4 families and children. We had an excellent holiday at La Mura. The wild and quiet surroundings , a small walk from a little village where you find everything you need to feed yourself. The Pool with a magnificent view on the mountains and sunset. Stargazing at night. and all you want for walks or bicycling .

We were looking for a Tuscan farmhouse to suit three generations and Le Mura Villa ticked all the boxes. Celia answered all our many questions before we booked the house and indeed it turned out to be the perfect choice. The children’s toys meant the youngest members had plenty to play with and the large upstairs rooms meant the older children had their own zone away from the adults. Everybody had their own space but the pool and farmhouse kitchen with its big chestnut table brought everybody together. We had such fun all preparing meals together and dining on the terrace enjoying the beautiful sunsets. It was a lovely secure homely spot - the older children walked to the village cafe on their own, giving them a sense of independence whilst us parents had peace of mind. We certainly hope to return to le Mura in the near future.

We have spent very peaceful, beautiful holidays in Le Mura. Two familes (8 persons) had the possibility to be together in a wonderful environment. The landscape is sublime, really ideal for people appreciating nature and quietude. The house has a big charme and the swimming pool was very appreciated in the hot days! Celia and Enzo are charming, very helpful and ...great cooks (they have prepared us an excellent diner). Le Mura is situated 10 minutes from the small lovely village Benabbio - with its excellent café and restaurant Cavalino Bianco. Nothing is better than their cappucino with cornetto and home.made pasta in the evening! And from this peaceful place you can do many trips - to the cities as Lucca or Florence, to the sea or to the mountains with the beautiful villages. Now, when the autumn is coming, we dream about Le Mura, hoping to come back soon...

The location was idyllic and we soon got used to the road up the hill and visited Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Barga, Montecatini, not to mention vineyards, a cave/grotto and a villa where Napoleon's sister had lived. The rooms were spacious and all modern conveniences were provided. We made full use of the lovely pool as we visited during a heatwave. Plenty of shady areas were appreciated. A fabulous afternoon and evening were spent being taught to make pasta and sauces by Enzo. The restaurant in the village provided traditional and delicious food on our last evening. We will never forget the sunsets and the occasional early morning misty sunrise. Celia and Enzo were very helpful and friendly and arranged for the delivery of initial provisions and a meal and gave useful tips on restaurants, shopping, parking and routes to take. We fully endorse their choices of ice cream establishments. An unforgettable holiday.

We have rented various properties over the last 12 years or so in this general area but this was our first visit to Le Mura and the nearby village of Benabbio. It most certainly won't be our last. We all absolutely loved it and cant wait to return. We are an Irish family of 5 with children of 18, 14 and 11 and its very rare that we can all agree on something but we agreed this was simply the best we had been to. It was all just perfect, the spacious house, the pool, the spectacular views, the walk along the forest path to the village. The owners, Celia and Enzo were so easy to deal with and such a lovely couple, so helpful and considerate. The sunsets were spectacular, we loved the village shop and the restaurant and the wine and just the whole experience really!

We had a wonderful stay at Le Mura set in the Tuscan hills. The villa has fantastic uninterrupted views. It is within easy access to Pisa and Lucca and lovely medieval hilltop villages. The villa has a heated swimming pool which we all spent a lot of time in. Celia and Enzo were lovely and really helpful offering advice on places to visit and where to park. We would definitely recommend Le Mura and give it ten out of ten!

Nestled among the chestnut and olive trees in the hills above Bagni di Lucca, Le Mura is a large, impeccably restored and maintained 17th century farmhouse that provides a relaxing retreat from the cares of this world, while offering every modern amenity. The views are stunning, the quiet soothing and the walks to nearby Benabbio invigorating. While the solar-heated pool and terraced gardens are enough to make you stay put, the villa’s location also offers a convenient jumping-off point for the region’s many attractions. Celia and Enzo are the perfect hosts, and their cuisine, using local ingredients, is a real delight, especially when served on the large outdoor table overlooking the valley and those spectacular views. Enjoying Tuscan wine and quiet conversation as dusk falls over the hills is truly magical – we’ll be coming back again and again.

Även om vi hade ganska högt ställda förväntningar inför vår resa så hade vi aldrig kunnat ana att få ett så fint boende och härlig upplevelse under vår vecka i Le Mura Villa som vi verkligen fick. Många grundförutsättningar var på plats; ett vackert boende bra beläget såväl nära flygplatser som trevliga utflyktsmål, uppvärmd pool, fin utsikt och ett hus som rymde oss alla. MEN, det är alla små detaljer som gör detta till semestern utöver den vanliga. Huset var så smakfullt och genomtänkt omhändertaget och inrett och andades sådan genuinitet och charm. Trädgården var lummig och parkliknande och gömde massor av spännande vrår där våra barn kunde leka. Landskapet och placeringen av tomten gav en dramatisk utsikt som bidrog till sådan avkoppling och ro för själen. Värdparet, Celia och Enzo, var så engagerade i att göra vår upplevelse bra redan innan vi var på plats och det bidrog så klart också mycket till vår trivsel. De hjälpte oss gärna att sålla bland alla fina utflyktsmål som området erbjuder, bl a små pittoreska bergsbyar, vingårdar och de närliggande restaurangerna (som för övrigt var toppen!). Höjdpunkter var också när paret bjöd oss på både en fantastisk toscansk middag och matlagningskurs. Givetvis var allt lokalt anpassat och alla råvaror antingen från dem själva eller odlat från vänner i närområdet! Överhuvudtaget var Celias och Enzos trevliga sällskap något som vi uppskattade mycket. Vi kände oss verkligen som hemma och längtar redan till att återkomma. Möjligen behöver vi mer än en vecka nästa gång, för det var splittrande att ge sig ut på alla härliga dagsutflykter och samtidigt gå miste om våra sköna dagar hemma vid poolen och det trivsamma huset… :)

Le Mura is an absolute gem. A traditional farmhouse which has been tastefully and lovingly restored - retaining the original features. In addition there is the beautiful rambling terraced garden and lovely solar heated pool. The views are spectacular and its a short walk to the charming little village of Bennabio with Bagni di Lucca not far off. Celia and Enzo are great hosts and Le Mura is a very special place for us. Can't wait to go back!

Nous avons passé 4 jours fabuleux dans la villa "Le Mura". Située dans les collines, à une petite demi-heure de Lucca, la maison est dans un site extraordinaire, avec une vue magnifique sur les montagnes et la vallée. Très au calme, dans un nid de verdure, avec un très joli jardin, c'est un havre de paix et de fraicheur. Grande table dehors et piscine chauffée pour profiter de la vue sublime. La maison (du 16e siecle) a été restaurée avec beaucoup de goût (poutres apparentes, tommettes, meubles anciens): elle a beaucoup de charmes. Il y a 5 chambres spacieuses et une 6e à 2 lits. La maison est très propre, la cuisine très bien équipée. Petit village médiéval à 10 min à pied, belles balades à faire dans le coin. Les propriétaires Celia et Enzo sont absolument charmants, prêts à se mettre en 4 pour faire plaisir à leurs locataires. Celia a proposé de commander le diner pour nous le soir de notre arrivée au petit restaurant du village (délicieux!). Enzo a cuisiné pour nous un soir: c'était un vrai diner gastronomique avec les pates faites maison et des produits du terroir très raffinés. Nous nous sommes régalés. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le lieu, qui est vraiment dans un site magnifique, le charme de la maison, et la très grande gentillesse de Celia et Enzo avec qui nous avons été très heureux de discuter. Vraiment une adresse magique que je recommande vivement! Nous sommes partis à 5 couples d'amis, qui ont tous l'habitude de voyager et nous avons été unanimes sur la qualité de cette location.
