This review is actually for a property very close to this property that is managed by the same person. Two weeks before our visit, the owner/host contacted me saying their pool was under repair and they had an alternative property for us. I appreciated the proactive approach. First, Mercedes and her family were great. Mercedes was out of the country during our stay, but was still very attentive. Her husband was also available and helped with a couple of small issues. We got to spend time with her son during a tour and he is a great kid. Great family! Again, we did not stay in this exact house, but the location and layout is similar. Both have the amazing backyard and pool with fantastic view of the mountains and ocean. There was so much wildlife around that we enjoyed watching. For sure you need 4x4 to get up and down the mountain, but the drive was fun and easy. It was nice being so close to Uvita and Dominical. We greatly enjoyed both towns. I highly recommend this property or the similar property both for the location and the hosts/owner. Thank you for a great stay.

Completely exceeded expectations! The ocean and jungle views are incredible. The beds are super comfortable. The house is clean and well equipped to relax and have a great time in paradise. The pool is a wonderful place to relax before or after going on exciting excursions near by. The hosts are completely wonderful and made sure we were comfortable and informed about everything we needed to know to have an exciting and relaxing vacation. We can’t wait to return!

Great little place. It's so peaceful, bed is super comfy, we cooked home every night and they had everything you need to cook a meal. The pool is perfect and private with an ocean view.

We are ending 4 nights in this lovely little casita. While initially the rough, rocky road was a bit unsettling, after a few times up and down it became second hand, (but you DO need four wheel drive!). While Mercedes and her family were out of town, Tessa of Rancho DiAndrew provided a welcoming check in and maintained communication throughout our stay. She and Andrew also led us on an awesome waterfall expedition. This was the calm in the middle of our vacation, so most of our time was spent lounging by the pool, although we did visit a couple of beaches during our stay. Definitely a rejuvenating experience!

We absolutely LOVED our time at Casa Namaste and did not want to leave! It was so relaxing and private which was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed having our own private pool, and the outdoor area is where we spent most of our time. Everything was just amazing - we can't wait to come back! :)

This house was exactly what we were looking for. It was very comfortable for our family of four (two teenagers), and the kitchen had everything we needed. After the descent down the mountain it was a quick trip into town to get to activities or a grocery store. Chuck and Mercedes were a wealth of information and directed us to the best beaches, tours, and restaurants in the area. (The local waterfall tour by Rancho DiAndrew was fantastic.) After going to beaches and local towns during the day, we enjoyed getting back to the house before sunset so we could swim in the pool while listening to the monkeys and other wildlife. Eating our meals outside was a must! Make sure to turn out the outside lights at night and marvel at how many stars are visible here. Wonderful getaway, and we will definitely come back! Chuck and Mercedes were fabulous!

We are from the Twin Cities in snowy Minnesota. We booked this over Christmas 2018 with our two late teenage sons. The place had all the amenities we needed and provided a gated jungle paradise with sweeping views of the ocean and oodles of nature all around. The hostess was super responsive to our questions and even booked tours and a private catered dinner at the house for us. We enjoyed waking up early to the sounds of the birds and howler monkeys, taking early morning strolls and seeing white faced monkeys and blue morph butterflies along the way. We also enjoyed the evening visits of two different breeds of toucan and the basilisk lizard who liked swimming in the pool as did the cane toad who would leave his presence known overnight. A 4x4 vehicle is a must to experience this jungle surprise. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need except for a microwave. Bring your spices and oils and paper supplies. The extras we enjoyed were the hostess’s friendly dogs and the jungle and mini waterfalls down the hill from the house. WiFi kept the teens from forming a mutinay on us as did the private infinity pool. We would love to visit again.

Our visit to Casa Namaste was amazing! So peaceful and private. Surrounded by breathtaking views and the sounds of birds and monkeys in the jungle. The casita itself was perfect and met our needs completely. It had lots of outdoor space and a pool that we thoroughly enjoyed. Mercedes was a gracious host, answering our many questions and providing recommendations and reservation assistance with tours and restaurants. The only negative was that our time there was too short! We would highly recommend this property and look forward to visiting again soon :) The very best Mercedes, to you and your family!!! This house is everything described and more; it is very clean and well maintained. You do need a 4WD to get there in saying so this is one of the better roads going into the mountains in the area, the road is wide and appears to be maintained. Upon arrival Mercedes the property manager was on site to walk us through the house and property leaving no unanswered questions. She was quick to reply to our many emails prior to our arrival as well as during our stay. We had zero issues the only time we had to contact her once we were there was to make tour arrangements. She told us how to get to this most amazing river on the property which was one of the nicest if not the best gem to see in the area. We were planning on doing an escorted waterfall tour but cancelled decided we wanted to do another day at the river as we have never experienced such a beautiful sight. This was our fifth time in this area of Costa Rica and this is one of our favorite locations. The house if fully equipped with a decent outdoor grill and everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal or just casual cooking. We had a chef with us and took full advantage of this. The washer and dryer were great, next time... bring half the clothes.....we had brought detergent but saw that this was supplied. The beds are really comfortable the AC in the rooms were great, there is no AC in the living area but that was not an issue for us. We never turned on the TV's which there are three as we just enjoyed sitting outdoors and taking it all in. The howler monkeys were around the house everyday (am /pm), we got to see them close up in the back just outside the kitchen that was a treat. Many toucans, birds and butterflies. The pool is awesome, warm overlooking the the forest and the famous Uvita whales tail. Plenty of beach towels! The main town of Uvita is about 20 minutes away were there are two supermarkets and good restaurants. we went out for lunch daily one of our favorite places is Jolly Rogers the best wings ever.....Mercedes also has a list of very good restaurants that we ate at. If you want to do deep sea fishing make plans prior to your arrival through Mercedes as these are more difficult to book,as choice days could be limited. We did two days of fishing one in shore where we caught three nice rooster fish and an off shore where we caught four sailfishes and six mahi mahi and saw hundreds of dolphins and yellow tunas. The Very Best TY Mercedes!!!!!!

Simply amazing! Week long honeymoon at Casa Namaste in San Joceito. Such a unique house and location bordering on 2 biospheres; 15 minute drive up/down mountain dirt road, in 4WD to/from the coast and beaches of Uvita and Domenical. The house is rural/remote for some, and surrounded by Howler Monkeys, White faced Coatis, Toucans, Iguanas, local rivers, waterfalls....It just goes on and on and on. Incredible view from the pool and dining area table of the Whales Tail. Two bedrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, jacuzzi tub, pool, ceiling fans; never even turned on the A/C. The house is well equipped and frankly, after provisioning, you could go in for a week and never come out the entire time, or you could go out to eat at numerous, fantastic local restaurants like the Ballena Bistro! The local farmers market on Wednesdays and a more tourist focused farmers market on Saturdays, took care of all our local produce needs. Two BM Supermercado's in Uvita for any other needs. Local Pharmacy to stock up on whatever you might need. Must do excursion, Horseback Nauyaca Waterfall Tour, best $70/pp you'll spend; included great Costa Rican Breakfast on the way up and lunch on the way down; with awesome local guides. Cannot say enough kind words about the property manager, Mercedes, and her husband! From check in, to checking on us, made local reservations for us, plus more suggestions and recommendations then we could have experienced in a week. After a delayed flight, a holiday crowd in immigration, and a 3.5 hour drive from SJO, Mercede's directions from Highway 34, up the hill to find this house in the dark were incredible. They are some special people. Getting adopted by "Izzie" was an unadvertised extra, and she was the sweetest little dog around the house and property. If you need the hustle and bustle and night life of a resort - this is not it. If you want to get away and pick and choose when you want to go to town and the beaches - this is the house and adventure you want! We will be back....
