We love WV and have stayed in many places. This one was our favorite, hands down. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spot. In contrast with WV cabins (which are wonderful in their own right) this farmhouse was full of light thanks to huge windows and whitewashed walls throughout. It is a lovingly restored farmhouse surrounded by rolling hills, ponds, and cow pastures. Everything you need is provided and there are thoughtful touches throughout. The owners’ instructions made it easy to settle right in and communication with them was great. We can’t wait to come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your farmhouse. The surrounding countryside was beautiful and the love and care you’ve put into every detail make it a very special place to stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to make wonderful meals at home. We also enjoyed shopping and eating locally based on your recommendations. The wood burning stove was wonderful, as were the heated towel rack and electric blankets. It was so cozy and welcoming. The candles in the windows and lanterns in the meadow were a romantic welcome after driving on dark, twisty roads. The cows, deer, and neighbor cats entertained us throughout the week. We did not want to leave.

The house and view were exceptional. You can tell that this place is loved by its owners. There are so many small antiques and interesting things. My favorite moments were when we had the screened doors open; the breeze and sound of wind chimes blew through the kitchen as I was cooking. There was a heavy rain one night and we lost power for most of the evening, so we lit candles. On our last night, it was chilly, so we lit a fire in the wood burning stone. Oh, and the only visitors we had were a dozen or so cows who came up to the gate about 100 feet from the back deck to say hello twice a day. We truly had the full farmhouse experience and loved every minute of it!

This was a great escape from the everything. The farm house was perfect… nothing more I can say. The proximity to Lost River State Park and all it has to offer was great. We had a great time and will def look to enjoy this place again in the future. Thank you for sharing your home with us…

From every window, there are quintessential views of rolling hills, mountains in the near distance, wildlife, sunrises, sunsets and farm life perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights stay at this modernized, yet comfortable farmhouse. The setting was so peaceful and quiet. Such a wonderful change in pace from our busy lives. Highly recommend!!!

The farmhouse is nestled amongst rolling hills. We were treated to many visits by deer, rabbits and birds. The John Denver lyrics: "Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze Country roads, take me home To the place I belong West Virginia, mountain mama Take me home, country roads" Says it all. We had a wonderful experience with the house, owner and location. If you are looking to get away from it all this is the place!

This is our second stay at the cozy farmhouse and just as lovely as we remembered. The house in an ideal location and is true farmhouse feel. Makes you want to drink lemonade on the porch and spend the day barefoot. A true back in time feel. Eric and Brett put a lot of love into this house and are warm and attentive hosts. One of the charming parts of this area are there are no super stores to run to or a fast food nearby. You can make due with about everything you need with the old time corner store down the road and Wardensville Garden market. Rest of your time is spent lounging, fishing, swimming and sitting by the fire. We ventured out to Moorefield through Lost River Park over the mountain, a deserving and beautiful road trip in itself. Here we did some amazing kayaking with Breezewood Adventures..nicest local guys around. It is a must. We have stayed at many places and this still is our favorite!

This was a short getaway for me, but the house and location delivered more than I had expected. The owners have done a great job making it welcoming, cozy and well thought out in terms of layout, furnishings, decor. The view - over the top and so welcome. I wish I had a clearer night to star gaze, but the quiet and moon were lovely and made for a great sleep. The wood burning stove and tub were just what I needed to relax after a winter hike. I can't wait to return, especially in warmer weather to use the porch, too! Thank you so much.

This was our 5th time back at the farmhouse because we love it so much. Everything you need, and such a beautiful place. We love the fireplace, views, and cozy house. Eric is a great host, and always makes sure everything is taken care of. 10/10!!!

This was our third stay at the farmhouse and everything was just as fantastic as the first two visits, and we’re already looking forward to our trip back next year! The property provided the perfect getaway from the city with wide open spaces, fresh air, and everything you need to settle in and enjoy your stay.
