North Adelaide is a lovely, leafy suburb just outside the city. There are so many cute little cafes around to try during your stay. If you're from Melbourne, some might even remind you of home. After dinner, one of my favourite things to do when I lived in North Adelaide was to take a nice relaxing stroll around the neighbourhood. There's lots of greenery and wildlife around and a beautiful mix of modern and heritage, character-filled buildings to admire. The locals are also lovely people and the area is very family friendly with multiple parks and playgrounds nearby. If you love to eat, there's always a place that's open too! I love the 24-hour bakery just on O'connell St. The perfect distance away for a nice walk there and back.

Want to venture out for some exercise or to let the kids run around? The parklands, Torrens River trail and North Adelaide play space (see photos) is only an easy 3 minute walk. Take the short cut out the back of the complex and get there even faster. The playground is nature-focused. Most of the play equipment is made of natural elements. It's a great place to relax and soak in the peaceful, leafy surrounds. There are also toilets and well-maintained BBQ facilities there. So you can make the most of the outdoors during your Adelaide stay. To get to the city the bus stop is just a 2min walk down the street. There's also a free city connector bus if you want to walk a bit further down to Jerningham St. You can also walk to most places.
