It's three large bedrooms and extensive living area make it ideal for family holidays. It is also perfect for couples looking for a romantic retreat with its ground floor master bedroom and lounge with log burner. Situated in amongst rural farmland on the edge of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine National Park it is a perfect place to sit, relax and unwind whilst sampling a glass of wine from the many Loire Valley vineyards. Charmante maison dans le brouillard
Petite maison dans la campagne à proximité de villages et prêt de Saumur avec son magnifique château . Nous avons eues chaud avec le poêle qui a réchauffé nos soirées humide de l hiver . Nous étions très bien , les équipements sont parfaits et suffisamment de salle de bain et de wc pour 6 personnes . Nous avons aimer passé le nouvel an dans cette charmante maison ,bien au chaud ...... Cordialement Mne Youx y et ses amis

Gorgeous and comfortable cottage in stunning location.
We had a lovely holiday at La Croix. The cottage is very neat and comfortable with smart kitchen and bathrooms, set in a beautiful area near to the village of Courleon. Great bakery in Gizeux nearby. Local supermarket. Drives into Saumur for walkabout, choice eating and shopping. Chateau Villandry for very beautiful gardens. Langeais for more mooching and eating ... vineyards to drive through, forests just on the very verge of autumnal colours, the countryside is extremely pretty. Rille for a lake visit (zipwire water ski-ing looked fun but we didn't try). I didn't know this part of France all that well but have completely fallen in love with it and La Croix offers a really good base to explore from. Thank you :)

Jules & I would wish to thank Pete & Louise for allowing us to share both their vacation and exceptional holiday home. An absolutely stunning and very well presented cottage in an idillic location which offers peace and tranquillity, yet is within an easy reach of the many visiting opportunities and attractions of the Loire Valley. A highly recommended holiday, set within stunning, uninterrupted views of rural Parçay-les-Pins yet has every modern facility to please everyone. A brilliant holiday shared with the hosts and we both can’t wait to return. Very, very highly recommended. Thank you so much.

Lizard orchids, hares and stone curlews
Great property. Well fitted-out, good sized rooms and 2 bathrooms! We had a lovely week. Loads of historic sites close by, love the scenery and anywhere I can watch stone curlew from the garden...with a lizard orchid...is fine by me. Hares on the otherside of the garden fence and a resident little owl...fantastic. Lovely setting, great communication with owner. We will be back.

Beautiful gite, we'll be going back
What a beautiful gite, tastefully renovated to offer the best of French style and the best of English home comforts. We really enjoyed our (too short) stay and plan to go back next year in the Summer. The owners are really friendly and helpful too.

The local villages of Parcay les Pins, Gizeux and Vernoil have a range of amenities including boulangeries, bars and an excellent supermarket. The Musee Jules Desbois in Parcay les Pins is dedicated to the famous sculptor who was born in the village. The bar next door which takes his name is a typical French bar but serves good value food at lunch and dinner. <BR><BR>Although not close to the coast there are plenty of choices for swimming too - the many natural lakes in the area have beaches and safe swimming areas which have lifeguards in the peak summer months. Canoe hire and organised trips are available throughout the region and the Loire-a Velo cycle path criss crosses the area offering many safe and scenic cycle routes.<BR><BR>The local villages of Gizeux and Breil boast impressive chateaux with extensive gardens.

Det finns många vägar att resa till La Croix. Närmaste färjehamnen ligger vid Caen som betjänas av Brittany Ferries, detta är en 2 1/2 till 3 timmars bilresa. Det är också en 4 timmars bilresa från Dieppe och 5 timmar från Calais. LD Lines fungerar från Newhaven Dieppe och P & O färjor och Eurotunnel service Calais. De tre närmsta flygplatserna till La Croix är Tours (50 minuters bilresa), Poitiers (en 90 minuters bilresa) och Nantes (2 timmars bilfärd). Dessa flygplatser har för närvarande rutter från London Stansted, Manchester, Belfast, Dublin, Newcastle och London Gatwick men vägar förändras hela tiden med nya läggs till. Största lågprisbolagen som betjänar dessa flygplatser är Ryanair, Flybe och Easyjet. La Croix kan också nås med tåg med TGV från Paris till Tours. Biluthyrning finns på alla större flygplatser och järnvägsstationer.
