Probably one of the most secret places in Nicaragua. First the lake: the Apoyo lake is a mix of a geological wonder (part of a volcano system), a natural reserve and a community. A perfect setup for all sorts of activities; kayaking, swimming, trekking, camping and a host of other activities. Second, the property has a local colonial feel yet with a modern design, perfectly integrated in its environment and respectful of the surrounding nature, it is very hard not to want to just stay there a little longer. Last, but not the least, the hospitality. Darling and her husband Benjamin, were just the most charming hosts. they did not spare any trouble to make us feel at home. It just seems that they love their property and they want to share that love with every guest. This is no doubt among the top of all the properties and places we have stayed at, hands down!
