Vi har dom senaste tre åren hyrt The Milestone i flera veckor. Senast i veckorna 6-13 i 2016.
Vid avresan 29/3 avtalade vi med ägaren att återvända 18/1 2017 och stanna i 8 veckor.
Vi har haft en en vänskaplig relation och har fixat med olika problem med huset. Detta året blev det dock aldrig någon lugn och ro. Flera dagar utan vatten. Installation av larm vilket tog nästan en vecka med spring av folk. Tålamodet fanns med tanke på att nästa år borde huset fungera och vi få,riktig semester.
Så blev det INTE d. 21/6 alltså tre månader efter ingått avtal fick vi mail från ägaren, att hon nu enbart vill ha kort uthyrning.

The Milestone truly is an idyllic retreat and is very popular during the holiday season. Many of the guests are regular returnees, some opting to return during the moderate off season when the wind drops and the sea becomes calm. Demand is highest during the summer months and I wish not to disappoint the pool of regular guests that has grown over the years. It is for this reason that I don’t favour the monopolisation of this peak period by one set of guests despite the fact that it cuts down a little on housekeeping. With normal bookings it is possible to sort out problems that may arise at changeover times ensuring guests are not inconvenienced nor their privacy compromised during their stay at the Milestone.
The Jensens are lovely people and very persuasive, they managed to convince me to deviate from regular policy and allow them to book the Milestone for extended periods over peak season. In the process I have had to disappoint other long- time customers even before the Jensen’s booking has been secured by payment of the deposit. Health problems and uncertainties have been cited as reasons for the delay in paying the deposit and I accept this but it still forces me to turn down other bookings without certainty that the Jensen booking will actually materialise. This has motivated me to return to my long-standing booking policy for the Milestone.
Also staying for extended periods increases the likelihood that problems that arise with the house will coincide with the stay and this unfortunately is what occurred in the case of the Jensens. I apologise profusely that this happened but in defence must state that the problems that arose, the water supply problem and the installation of the security system were beyond my control. I also apologise for the disappointment my decision has caused the Jensens but I would never disregard an agreement that has been sealed by payment of the deposit.
