The coronavirus travel restrictions meant that there were very many more people holidaying in the UK than previously. As such, we did not manage to stay in our preferred location in the centre of Whitby due to the guesthouses and B&Bs having no vacancies. Hence we booked Aldebaran. In the end we were happy that we had this opportunity to stay here - it was a delightful, spacious, airy place to stay which was entirely commutable to Whitby by car. We were greeted by Coleen, the proprietor, who made us feel very welcome. Our room, Guest Room 1, was beautifully decorated. It had a contemporary yet comfortable feeling. Our bathroom was clean and had a powerful shower. The view of the Yorkshire countryside from our window was stunning, and it was a delight to see this over breakfast. The breakfast was continental; we especially liked the bread and croissants supplied by the local bakery, and the selection of fruit – refreshing after the excesses consumed during our holiday! The breakfast was brought to the outside of our room – there is no dining room. At first we thought that we would not like this setup but in fact it was a delight to eat in the privacy of our own comfortable room. We are keen to visit Whitby again and would definitely stay in Aldebaran B&B once again!…
Truly perfect hosts in a spectacular location with a beautiful home they have chosen to share, which we are very grateful for, they are warm, welcoming, friendly, accommodating & there are not enough words to describe how much we enjoyed our stay, your missing out if you don’t try it, highly recommend a visit& we will definitely be return guests- thank you so much for enabling us to arrive world weary and go home fully revived
Recently stayed whilst visiting the area. It is quite away from anything, host did provide us with bus and train information, but would have been nice if we had a bit more information about the local area. We stayed on a Monday and had planned to eat local to B&B only to find nothing local serving food and only one pub actually open which was quite a walk away, but they were very helpful. Room was lovely, had everything you needed. Lovely view. Gardens were very nice and well maintained. Breakfast was continental and delivered to your room first thing.
We stayed in this B&B from the 11th - 13th June and were really pleased with the rooms and the location of the B&B. The rooms were immaculate along with the view (the pictures don't do it justice). The breakfast was really nice with lots of choice (croissants, cheese, ham, yogurts and cereal etc.) and nothing was too much trouble for the owners. I've recommended this B&B to my family and colleagues at work already which I rarely do. The local area has plenty to do if you enjoy the outdoors. We walked down the Cinder track and Cleveland way to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Ravenscar. Had a great weekend!
Now we are in the World of "staycations" we thought we would have a few days family trip to Whitby. Chose Aldebaran from its reviews and were not disappointed! Lovely gardens, clean comfortable rooms, excellent transport to and from Whitby. Train, bus and taxi, so left the car safely parked at Aldebaran. The owners were welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was unexpected, warm croissant delivered to your room, fresh fruit, cereal, cheese and meat. Great to start a summer's day overlooking the beautiful Esk valley. Definitely a place to come back to. Full use of the garden, including sitting in the gazebo, drinking wine on the summer's evening, what a B&B should be, a perfect start and finish to the day.
