After a day of sightseeing, I like to just relax in the room and watch tv, surf the net, etc. Somewhere that provides a clean bed, a clean restroom, and a decent tv and wife setup. Usually, it's not that hard to find. The tv was the most difficult tv to navigate that I used on a month road trip. The channel guide doesn't work. Changing channels doesn't work like it should. It was the most frustrating tv and remote situation. Front desk staff didn't seem like they knew much about working at the hotel. Room was lacking paper products so I had to ask the front desk for some. Restroom could have used some simple repairs before we checked in. Parking is free.
We spent two nights in OKC here. We had our dog, so we needed a pet-friendly place and inexpensive. This ticked those two boxes. It also had free parking, which other hotels in Bricktown do not. But you kind of get what you pay for. Finding front desk staff was not always easy. People hung out in the hallways. The hotel had laundry but did not have any laundry products available. The toilet flush handle was broken. COVID protocols seemed to be lackluster, and despite signage, mask-wearing was pretty much non-existent. I have never been a fan of the Choice Hotels group, I have been burned by them in the past. I think I will continue to avoid Choice Hotels.
Upon check in I was met by a lady in the lobby wearing baggy sweat pants and socks with sandals. I had to wait 8 minutes for her to check me in while she organized some brochures in the lobby. When we entered the room it appeared nice however our first disappointment was no usb plugs in. There are 3 lamps in the room only one worked. Upon further investigation I figured two of them were missing lightbulbs . A few minutes I went to use the bathroom and take a shower. I discovered the toilet rocked back and forth as if it was uneven and not bolted down correctly. When I got into the shower I put my body soap and shampoo in the soap holder but it fell out because the holder was broken . The shower took several minutes to get hot water and it was a comfortable shower however I noticed a huge puddle of water in the bathroom floor. I double checked the door to be sure it was shut and came to find out the seals on the glass doors are bad and don’t hold the water in. Keep those things in mind when booking.…
This is our second stay here, and our first stay in a hotel since the pandemic started. Our room was clean, although we did clean all the surfaces ourselves and used our own pillows. Check-in was smooth. The night desk worker - I think her name was Sharon- was very helpful and quieted some partying folks in the parking lot at midnight. In the morning, I passed 3 different housekeepers who were not wearing masks and the desk worker (behind the huge “masks required” sign) was not wearing one either. I would have rated the hotel higher but they aren’t obeying their own rules. Not sure I will stay here again.
Clean hotel . Comfortable beds and a lot of pillows. Love the walk in shower that was in our room. Quite in spite if being close to the freeways and train track. Breakfast very good. Excellent parking, will go back.
