We were sent arrival instructions via email with entry codes, when we arrived the place is in a quiet residential area and had plenty of on street parking, we were working in the town for the week so was an ideal base for us especially having a lounge to relax and large shared kitchen. Most the rooms seem to have had a recent coat of paint, the beds were really comfortable. Ideal for a short break or working in the area, will definitely stay here again when we next are working in this town.
I Booked this Town House for 1 night. On arrival there was a dishevelled looking man standing at the door who approached my car asking if me and my friend was moving in. He stated that his uncle lived here. We felt very unsafe so we waited for him to go into the building before getting out of the car. On entering the building the front door was unlocked for any body to walk in, we looked at the room and then came down stairs to have a look at lounge and kitchen area, at this point the man from when we arrived and 2 other men came walking down the stairs behind us. We waited for them to leave the buliding before we headed to the car, we saw the 3 men standing in the dark alley( i think possibly doing drugs). We went back to the room to phone the person that owed the property to state that the building wasnt secure on arrival and there were men hanging round and we we're 2 young girls that didnt feel safe as the building i believe is being used more like a homeless hostel.we asked him if we could have a refund as the place was falsely advertised & we felt very unsafe. He stated that Booking.com would only refund half of the booking cost. On the sunday i called booking.com who advised me that this wasnt the case and the Napier town house has a policy of only refunding 50%. I am writing this complaint as i would like 100% refund. We drove 2.5 hours for a friends birthday. We had to then find alternative accommodation which cost us an additional £60 and we then was 1.5 hours late for the occasion Both Booking.com & own terrible DONT NOT USE This property need removing from booking.com it is not a town house as advertised. Also when we arrived at our new accommodation the lady on reception stated that they have had a few people come from Napier Town house that wasnt happy with the accommodation. I look forward to hearing you response and receiving a full refund, if this is not possible please can you advise the next course of action. As i would like the owners accountable for false advertisement. …
Stayed at this place for two nights , was a bit sceptical after reading few bad reviews but actually pleasantly surprised to find it clean and in a very quiet part of Workington . If all you're after is somewhere to get your head down I would say give it a go X decor nothing to write home about but we would be quite happy to stay again x
