Came for my wife's birthday. We had reserved a table outside and were set up comfortably. It was very hot so we came in for tastings and as our group grew they accommodated us without any issues. Staff was incredibly friendly and we had a wonderful time. Such a beautiful place.

I visited Morais Vinyards today with a group of friends to attend a wine pairing with catered Indian food.
I love Indian food and they paired each course with 4 different wines.
I'm not an avid wine drinker, but I was quite impressed with the pairings.
They are having another pairing event on May 22nd with Caribbean food!

I am Portuguese so stopping at this winery was a way to feel at home without crossing the Atlantic. The staff was welcoming, friendly and very professional. I was impressed with the fact that even though the young man who assisted us was born in the US, he was fluent in Portuguese and knowledgeable about the country. That aside, the wines were delicious and the atmosphere in the tasting room very pleasant. I imagine it is a lovely place to visit in the summertime or in nicer weather, they have a beautiful patio and decent views. Would love to go again, nd highly recommend. We had packed a snacks so did not buy any of the snacks available, but I believe they were simple like crackers and cheese.

What a great experience. Loved the winery. It’s beautiful and the staff were super friendly. Offered tastings and additional help choosing take home wines

While Morais is absolutely stunning, run away.
Communication prior to our wedding was amazing but when it came to our day everything fell through. Morais has pointed the fingers at everyone else and not taking any responsibility for their own actions. Morais makes you use one of their preferred catering and if you don't use them its an additional $1,000 fee. The catering team had issues on the day which they have acknowledged and since then tried to make it better with us. As a couple that had to postpone our wedding from 2020 and been planning since 2017 you would think they would be caring. Nope, their staff was short, unresponsive and did not hold up to items on our contract. During your tour they will discuss they make sure they do not have tasting room guest come and crash your wedding. Their staff member did not do their job until our day of coordinator ran around to find them and then they finally did their job. This was 10 minutes before we started walking down and about 4 minutes from when our timeline said it was suppose to start. Then they state you have access to the cellar for photos. When we walked down to the cellar there was machinery in the room blocking the cellar access for photos. Our videographer and photographer had to place their expensive equipment on the floor to physically move the items themselves. My husband was holding my dress up to make sure it did not get wine on it. The staff member from Morais did not move the items nor barely help instead just watched. This photo access was clearly stated in our timeline which Morais asked for multiple times prior to our wedding yet the area was not ready for us when we arrived. Then when everything is said and done about other items Morais has taken zero responsibility for anything and even charged us more money. They have willingly pointed the blame to every other vendor and stating they did so and so. Morais claims you dont have to purchase all the wine that you have selected, they were very happy to make sure all of it was placed in our car to be purchased even though 15 bottles of wine could have been returned. Morais ruined a day we can never recreate. Instead of being on a wedding high from the night before we spent the whole day search for my bridal bouquet that Morais and others on their own account choose to take out of the rental van and leave at the venue to be thrown away the next day. Morais's email told us it was in a rental car which it was not. The following day they send an email that we left florals in the venue and charged us $100. When we realized that someone had taken the florals out of our vehicle including my irreplaceable bridal bouquet we quickly asked them if the have thrown away my bouquet if it was part of what was left behind. They swore left and right it was not. Attached are photos of my bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquets and the glass vases they were in that they threw in the dumpster. My dear parents had to show up early in the morning to go through the dumpster since Morais took no responsibility of the poor communication. When Morais finally called me they did not apologize or acknowledge places they misspoke in their emails. They continued to be on the defensive and until the 5th time of pointing out one item they acknowledged their error. Morais is not compassionate and seems to only care about getting paid. The owner has been disrespectful to multiple members of our team that our own vendors are disappointed in the outcomes Morais has taken. Again the communication from Morais is horrendous when it comes to your big day happening. While the venue may be stunning, the headache and irreplaceable items are not worth the price tag Morais has placed on it. Find another venue that is willing to take your day seriously! The 10K + price tag on this venue can be better spent at another beautiful wedding venue in Virginia.

Beautiful winery for the whole family- lots of room outside to spread out. We had a group of 12 and wanted to be outside and able to sit distanced from each other due to various extended family members' comfort levels. We reserved a spot in advance and had a wonderful place to sit under an arbor with two picnic tables. This was perfect for us to do a small birthday celebration and see family outside, enjoyed the wines, and we had four kids who enjoyed the playground equipment. Great wine slushies and place to spend an afternoon, especially if you're looking for a safer thing to do during COVID-19!

At a friend’s recommendation, we decided to go and check this vineyard. It is just an hour’s drive from Fairfax, VA.
Due to COVID-19, you cannot tour the vineyard. With that said, you can still enjoy the grounds. They have enough space to practice social distancing. You are free to bring in your own food and enjoy the picnic grounds. There was a food truck when we were there - it was a Saturday, so no worries we if you did not bring any food.
I had a wine slushy and my husband got a glass of their featured wine of the month “Cherry Wine”. Our friends got the flight wine tasting - you choose 4 wines to try.
The staff was very friendly and since it’s our first time there, they took the time to explain about the winery and the type of wines they produce.
I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to be back and try their other wines.

Wow! What an elegant place!
Morais oozes class. From the glass enclosures to the vaulted wood-beamed ceiling to the fountains.
Having tasted wines at numerous states and several countries – I have a rating system of 1-10. Ten being the highest. Not one of these wines rated below a 6, with most being in the 8 range. They’re good and the Touriga Nacional was amazing!!
Their Commendador is a highly recommended blend. The Cabernet Franc is a great price-point at $28 and would pair nicely with any strong or gamey meats.

Parking: Large paved lot
Would recommend: Highly

We found this winery on our way home from Charlottesville. It is January so it was not very busy. The grounds and tasting room are both large and set up for a lot of people. It is obvious they welcome kids since they have a large outdoor ‘play ground’ set up. We partook in the Classic wine tasting which is 8 of their wines. They were all very good wines. We purchased a bottle of their Estate Reserve 2016 which was our favorite. At the tasting they provide you with a platter of some cheese, meats and chocolates to pair with the wines you are tasting.

Morais Vineyards is a sumptuous location with several well-designed modern buildings and views of the vineyards. Besides the usual Virginia wines, Morais features wine from Portuguese grapes like Alvarinho, the Portuguese specialty vinho verde, the less known Jeropiga, and a delicious cherry wine. Service is friendly and attentive. One can purchase cheese and crackers to go with the wine. There is a chapel that would be a wonderful venue for a wedding.

They have a couple options but the cost is not much. It was around $8-$10 per person. They do give you a small plate of pairing items (chocolate, cheese, etc.) for each wine which is included in the cost.

HI, I'm looking for a bit more information on the wines served here. I like medium to full body red wines e.g. Bordeaux, Malbecs and Cabs. Could someone kindly describe their experience with these reds? What were you favorite wines and why? e.g. full body, velvety finish, smooth, good legs. etc.
