Nice trail
maj 2021
We rode a section (28 miles) of this trail near Dayton. It was a peaceful ride with Indigo Buntings and wild flowers. There was an area that was being worked on so we had a quarter-mile on the road (with not shoulder) to get around, but otherwise it was pretty easy with a mild grade. Would like to come back to ride more of the trail.

Very nice ride
juli 2020 • Vänner
A friend and I rode from South Lebanon to Springfield and back which was a 100 miler. We went a morning after a night of storms, the trail had a lot of debris and downed trees. On the return trip they were off the trail. The ride is very calm and scenic, the only grade is the very very low and long climb into Yellow Springs and Springfield.

You’ll pass through several small villages/towns. The most notable are Xenia and Yellow Springs. We had to stop there and refill water bottles and snack. The Springfield side is a kind of abrupt end to trail.

It’s a great day trip!

Impressive trail from Cincinnati to Springfield
okt. 2019
This 78.1 mile long trail runs from Turpin Hills, a suburb of Cincinnati in Hamilton County, to Springfield. For most of its length, the trail follows the course of the Little Miami River. Indeed, its southern trail head is by the river's edge some 3 miles upstream from where the Little Miami joins the Ohio River. North of Spring Valley, the trail and river diverge somewhat (the trail seems to continue along some smaller tributaries instead), but still the north trail head is within about 10 miles of the river's headwaters near South Charleston. Over its length, the trail connects to over 300 miles of other trails in the southern half of the state and also connects numerous parks, towns, etc. in five counties.

We recently visited the newest section of the trail that extended the southern end some 3 miles from the Little Miami Golf Center to the Beachmont Avenue river crossing in Hamilton County's Anderson Township. Opened in 2015, this paved section is in great condition. It parallels Batavia Road for the most part and passes through two parks, Clear Creek and Short. We were there early on a Saturday morning so it was still fairly peaceful although we did come across some runners and a couple of bicyclists. Although a surburban section, there were still some nice stands of trees and open fields along the way. There's a convenient parking lot next to the Speedway Station close to the south trailhead (GPS 39.110267, -84.399335) that's also pretty useful if you want to bring your kayak to the river.

The township plans next year (2020) to extend the trail further with a crossing over the Little Miami to meet up with the Armleder and Lunken Connector Trail which would link this trail into the system of trails that runs throughout Cincinnati and beyond along the Ohio River.

Great towns. Loved the b and b and inns. Yellow Springs is a unique artsy town with good food and wine.

Cycling the LMST is great. The surface is paved and the terrain is flat. You can ride to bike friendly towns mostly under 30 miles.

Loveland to Springfield, OH and Back
sep. 2019
Retirement allows one to experience adventures not often contemplated by the working populace. How about a challenge to ride from Loveland to Sprngfield, OH and back over two days,

The Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail actually originates in Newtown and runs 78.1 miles to Springfield, OH where you can actually connect to the Simon Kenton Trail and go an additional 35.5 miles to Urbana. The Little Miami Scenic Trail is the 3rd longest paved bike path in the United States.

The bike path is relatively flat and is under the cover of trees for much of its length providing some protection from the sun and heat. There are many places to stop where you can can grab something to eat and drink without having to carry it on your bike. Morrow to Corwin at 13 miles is probably the longest stretch without food or water available off the trail.

In Corwin you can ride less than a mile to explore historic Waynesville, OH. Xenia has all the comforts a small city can offer with hotels, restaurants and grocery stores. It is also home to Xenia Station which connects to four separate bike paths, We jokingly called it the Black Hole of bike paths because we unknowingly took the wrong trail out of Xenia Station going both North and South. Pay attention!!

Yellow Springs has plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat, but has few options for an overnight room. Springfield is the end of the line and while the hotel options are quite affordable even on the weekends, its a town that has lost a lot of jobs and its downtown area while working to remain vibrant can seem desolate.

All in all, we had a great time and took about six hours of riding to complete our ride to Springfield. We left at 8:30 in the morning and got to our Comfort Suites hotel in Springfield just after 2:30 in the afternoon. We rode 136 miles over two days.

I'm looking forward to trying the Ohio to Erie Trail next that shares the Little Miami Trail from its start thru to Xenia Station before splitting off to the northeast towards Columbus. If you're looking for a bit of a challenge on a nice paved trail with few roads to cross or share limited space with automobile traffic than this path is for you.

Great for biking...sometimes walking
aug. 2019
Built along the Little Miami River on top of an old railroad bed this trail is great for bike riders but if you're a walker on the weekend or in the evening I could be a little dicey.

Always Awesome!

This is one of our favorite Rails to Trails paths! We are fortunate to live only 3 hours from the southern end and have visited a number of times. The trail itself is wonderful and we love the range of activities in the area.

This time we combined a day on the trail with an evening at Kings Island! Perfect. Many Airbnb options are available and we love staying at the quaint and comfortable Kirkwood Inn. The Inn is close to the trail and Kings Island.

Another good option is combining biking with camping and canoeing or kayaking on the Little Miami. We like Morgan's
Riverside Campground where you can stay right on the river and bring your own boat or rent one of theirs.

We were very sorry to see that The Little River Cafe in Oregonia was closed but enjoyed a good meal at Sugar Run Grill.

Today we saw several gold finches, cardinals, a big doe, and even an indigo bunting! The jewelweed and other wild flowers were beautiful along the trail. We are so grateful for this wonderful place.

Excellent Trail - Great Stops Along the Way
aug. 2019
My wife and I bike this trail several times a year. We often drive to Morrow and either bike from there to Waynesville or Mason, other times starting in/around Waynesville. We have also biked from Xenia. The trail is very well-maintained and has shade for ~85% of the trail. The Waynesville to Mason section offers bikers the opportunity to eat/drink at Stone House Tavern (Waynesville), Little River Cafe (Oregonia - albeit currently closed/for sale), Sugar Run Grill (Morrow), and Monkey Bar and Grille (Maineville). With the shade, biking on a hot/humid day is still pretty comfortable.

we started out bike riding from Buck Creek State Park and continued on this trail. It was very scenic and since we were riding at noon, we very grateful for the shadiness of this trail. Ended up in yellow springs which is a great little town.

Great Bike Ride on a crisp October Day
okt. 2018 • Ensam
What better time to grab your bike and hit the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail than a crisp, sunny October afternoon. I parked my car in downtown Loveland, OH just behind Paxton's Grill located at 126 West Loveland Avenue. It's a great place to start your ride as there are a number of restaurants here if you are hungry at the end of your ride.

It wasn't as busy here today as it usually is during the warmer, summer months, but the crowds began to thin out the father I pedaled from town. I was stuck by how much more light came through the trees as so many have already lost a lot of their fall foliage.

I only rode my bike the 14 miles to Morrow, OH and back today, but I've begun to formulate a plan to ride the entire 78 mile length of this trail all the way to Springfield. OH sometime next year. I've never ridden farther north than Xenia, OH and its time I went farther up the pike.

If your'e looking for a fantastic venue for hiking with interesting, small towns to explore than the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail is for you and your entire family.
