such an incredible interesting place!! My husband isn't usually the museum type, but this was quite different. The museum is large and has a variety of displays, demonstrations and interactive workshops too! Woud absolutely go back. Corning is an adorable town with shops and restaurants. Very walkable.

The Museum of glass discriminate against employees in my humble opinion
I was subject to discrimination and retaliation.
It’s very painful to live through. It’s very difficult to prove and I have a law degree.
It’s very beautiful on the outside..
It can be extremely ugly on the inside

Corning Glass Museum
We visited here during the week so it was not busy. The glass displays are fantastic and the demo showing an object being created was very interesting. The narrator provided step by step building commentary on the item which was a model of a car. We watched the artist at work and received a well done running summary of all that she was doing. The exhibits were well done and there were many allowing hands on interaction. This kept our 7 year old interested. There was also a very interesting large marble maze. We ate lunch in the cafeteria area and liked the food offered along with reasonable prices. A great place to take a family with young kids. Highly recommend.

This museum is FABULOUS. It is huge! I spent 3 hours in the history section alone. They have live glass blowing demonstrations and other demonstrations. In fact, there is so much to see that the ticket price includes a second day. So worth the trip!! I'll be back!

The museum has many great glass objects to see. They also have several demonstrations and a few workshops. I highly recommend visiting before noon though, so that you have enough time to see the museum and demonstrations and also participate in workshops.

This is not a couple-hour museum: It will take the better part of a day to see it. You could actually spend hours in the HUGE gift shop!
We were lucky enough to get an overview tour as soon as we walked in. I said that I'd come back to take pics of the items that caught my eye later, but that did not happen.
Try to see all of the demos, incl of course those of the glory-holes.
Lunch items were bountiful and well-priced.
As others have said, the restrooms are bountiful, too!
Tiffany and Frank Lloyd Wright have nice pieces on display.

Spent 2 full days here! Do the workshops, they are worth it. I made a bead (flame worm), a pumpkin (blow glass) and sandblasted a glass. All three of these workshops were fun and didn’t take up too much time. The museum itself is a really cool
Building and the exhibits are amazing. We went to so many demos and they were different every time. Parking was free

Is there mobility carts for handicapped people who want to take the tour?
Wheelchairs are available free of charge at the Admissions lobby, lower level entrance, and Welcome Center or by asking any Museum employee on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hi, we are planning the trip to niagara via Corning glass museum from the UK. We’d like to make our own glass but I understand it takes up to 10 business days to arrive within the US but we’ll na back to the UK by then. How much does the shopping cost please? And why can’t we take what we’ve made the same day? Thanks.

Shipping in the U.S. is $18-20 on average and free if it is a flameworking project. Everything except the sandblasting projects does need to cool down overnight and it can be picked up at noon the next day. We also keep the projects for a month so if you are driving back by you would be able to pick the project up or get it shipped to your hotel. I hope this helps answer your question.

The road in to Corning from the east is a solid highway and should be in good shape. To get to the museum, you'll exit onto a 4-lane avenue only about a half mile from the highway. Again, that road would probably be in decent shape as well. As for the route in from New England...if you're on interstates, you should be fine. The museum is not far off the beaten path, so I'd be confident in the drive. The Hilton is barely a third of a mile away, so if you room there, I wouldn't see any problems with the roads.

What is the latest time of day I can arrive in August?
Hi Yehudis! As other travelers have pointed out, we are open until 8 pm Memorial Day until Labor Day, but you will want to plan several hours here to take in our galleries, watch demonstrations, and possibly Make Your Own Glass. Our average visit is 4 1/2 hours.
If you plan on arriving after 4 pm, I recommend that you take advantage of our Save More After 4 promotion. Visit our Hours and Admission page on our website to reserve your tickets online prior to arriving and you can save $4 off admission. As always, Museum admission is valid for two consecutive days, and Kids and Teens 17 and Under are free.

Is there a Pyrex area in the museum?
Hi! While we do not have a special area dedicated to Pyrex, we do have several examples in our Crystal City Gallery (in our 35 Centuries of Glass Galleries). This includes some of the first manufactured pieces as well as more nostalgic items such as bowls with a flower pattern the curator chose as she remembered her grandmother having a similar set. If you're looking to buy Pyrex, we have options available in the Shops. We are looking forward to your visit!

What is the difference between the Hot Glass Demo that is 1hr 30 min and the demos that are 30 min? Is the longer one more educational? Wondering if it will hold the attention of my 10 year olds. Also, is there food/concessions at the museum? Thanks!
Hello! So, a 30-minute demonstration features our glassmakers going through the process of hand-making a basic, but unique piece of glass, typically a vessel such as a vase or bowl. A 90-minute demo is a little different, as it gives artists more time to create unique pieces and often push the boundaries of their skill. These finished pieces range more dramatically based on artist's choice. Children have definitely gone to many of our longer demonstrations, but the factor of keeping their attention may be determined by what type of piece the artist is making. Some artists may spend the whole time creating a museum-quality, curved vessel which may not be as dynamic to watch as when our artists make large, complicated goblets and figures. Both are educational, narrated shows with opportunities for the audience to ask their questions to the Hot Glass team. To answer your second question, we have a Cafe in the Museum that is open 9AM to 5PM. We hope you and your children are amazed by whichever the demonstration you choose!

Visited with a large group of family members yesterday. Beautiful museum. however, not a thing in gift shop is made there! Very disappointing. Beautiful display of blown glass flowers in antique truck.... Every flower made in China! Really????? Just not right.... Told local artists have things I gift shop.... Majority of all items imported... Purchased nothibg.... Expected better from Corning. 6 grandchildren did sandblasting boels. That was fun... Come on Corning... Get your car together! People are willing to spend more on American made we travelled to you, go the extra mile to sell your own products made in America!
Hi! You must have missed our entire section dedicated to locally made glass. As well, we have previously examined the mix of products in our shops, and the result was that 63% of our offerings are made in the United States, 11.5% are made in China, and the remaining 25.5% are made in other countries worldwide. Although our buyers seek sources worldwide, the reality is that our options for moderately priced items, those most appropriate as souvenirs, are very limited, with China being the primary one so that may have been the products you were seeing. In addition, the Museum is the exclusive producer and seller of Steuben Glass. If a visitor is looking for American-made or locally made glass, we have a wide assortment for them to choose from.
