Fantastic venue for outdoor music. The sound is crystal clear. Designed by Frank Gehry, who also designed the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. The video screen of the performing artist makes it easy to see the act from anywhere in the pavilion. We sat in about row 8 on the lower right hand side down in front. It was near the restrooms and a wonderful place to sit and listen to the music. People were dancing in the back on the cement portion and grassy area. There is room to picnic and spread out. Security at the entrance for safety. Concessions were available. We saw the Eddie Palmieri Orchestra and also the salsa warm up band. Both were excellent. Highly recommend!

Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park is a spectacular venue for performing arts. It was designed by the great architect Frank Gehry, and it opened to public in 2004. During all these years, the Pavilion has been the host for various concerts, festivals, and many other cultural events.
The structure of the Pavilion is fascinating: not only in the post-modern architectural design of the stainless steel headdress and the orchestra shell space, but also in the unique trellis network of speakers, that provide an excellent sound projection for the audience of up to 11,000 people, both on the fixed seats, and on the Great Lawn.
And beyond. When several days ago I was walking in the Millennium Park, I suddenly heard strong sounds of powerful orchestra music. When I came closer I found out , that it was the rehearsal of Chicago Symphony Orchestra for the concert, that its renowned Music Director Riccardo Muti was to conduct for the last time.
There were not too many spectators at the Pavilion in the afternoon hour (and hazy, smoky air). Everybody I saw around were quiet, silent, clearly mesmerized by the orchestra and its conductor. The final, free "Concert for Chicago" with Riccardo Muti took place at Jay Pritzker Pavilion in the evening of the same day, June 27, 2023.
It was Tchaikovsky's Symphony No.5 in E minor, that I listened to at the rehearsal at the Pavilion. Timeless music. Fantastic venue. Great orchestra. Superb conductor.

The Jewish Architect Frank Gehry designed this 40 meters high masterpiece donated by Jay Pritzker to the city of Chicago. Maybe the number one attraction in the Millennium park . Open air performances and concerts with perfect acoustics.

Espectacular auditorio al aire libre diseñado por Frank Gehry. Tiene que ser estupendo poder ver alguno de los espectáculos que organizan allí de manera gratuita.

While we did not get to see an event here, it was neat just to walk through it. This is another great park feature in Millennium Park. It is a beautiful venue set in the park with skyscrapers for a backdrop. Still the stage and overhead metal tubing are added features to the venue that create their own enclosed space in a wide open area.

Used to be a great addition to Chicago. This is a public park District. Now , we not only pay taxes for the park district but have to pay for everything except a walk through. For what used to be free seats in the pavilion the park district pays 2 ushers per isle to keep people out. The city can’t pay for police protection but pay to keep people out of the pavilion.
The ribbon is contracted out and charge $20’.00 for skates. There are no longer any in person exercise classes like other park districts.
I had to listen to our Mayors disparaging remarks about the Supreme Court and her filthy language about Clarence Thomas. I didnt pay for a political rally at what was suppose to be a concert. Two days later she said it doesn’t help to make disparaging remarks about others. What?? I paid to hear this as well as my taxes.

This is just an awesome looking venue. The way the metal bends it almost looks liquid. It is a perfect pairing with the Bean. There are plenty of seats and a massive lawn behind the seats. When the venue isn't being used the lawn doubles as a very well-maintained park.

We drove up for 7 hours for a concert at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion and the location is phenomenal!
The architecture is amazing, as were the acoustics. The seating was comfy and it was cool to look behind you and see the city. While we paid for actual seats, what we loved was that people could bring their own chairs and food and non-alcoholic drinks and set up on the lawn - how civilized and perfect for hot summer nights!
There were many drink stations but food was basically limited to soft pretzels and maybe something else similar. Tons of stalls in the bathrooms, so no line-ups.
We'd go to another concert here in a minute! And if we lived in Chicago, we'd be there all the time - but on the lawn for those concerts that we don't want to be close to the stage.

2021-May: Really cool outdoor entertainment venue. We just passed by. This area has been corded along its perimeter and no one us allowed even within the grass area. It was not like this when i visited 5 years ago.

In the middle of Millennium Park, this beautiful Jay Pritzker Pavilion, where it is supposed to held some kind of outdoor shows or concerts. I did not see a show when I was there, but it has a pretty design and atmosphere.

It's called Millenium Park Garage. The vehicle entrance for the Millennium Park Garage is on South Columbus Drive between Monroe Street (from the south, heading north) and Randolph Street (from the north, heading south).
