My companion (PADI certified diver) and I visited Merlin to finalize my PADI certification after completing my course in Canada, and the experience was exceptional. As soon as we arrive at the shop, we feel confident. The place is very well organized. Instructor Emma, whose mother tongue is French, was very patient and took the time to explain everything before the dive. His instructions are always very clear.
We have completed more than five hours of diving in total with Merlin at different sites. We observed a wide variety of dense aquatic flora and fauna, including spotted morays, octopus, horned chestfish, skate, and many other species.
The environment after diving is pleasant, with an outdoor area to relax and debrief. You feel that the owner, Jürgen, and the employees are passionate about diving, and not just there for commercial reasons. If I had to do it again, I would choose exactly the same instructor and the same dive sites.

Dive Center Merlin is a 5 Star dive operator.. If safety is your concern, then you are in great hands. Andy, their assistant Dive Instructor, took great care to ensure my safety in not so great sea conditions. Like the best PADI dive shops, they didn’t cut any corners preparing me for my two tank dives offering me dive tips along the way. So appreciated to learn new techniques through my diving travels.

Great experience for my first training dive with Eme! The shop is friendly, very professional and very easy to work with. They really tailor the experience to your goals. Good facilities, easy to get to even from a cruise! Highly recommend them!

I had the opportunity to dive with Divecenter Merlin for several days while I was visiting nearby Cabarete. I'm a PADI Divemaster from the US and was looking for a safe and professional shop to enjoy my dives with. Divecenter Merlin was the right choice, and I was very impressed with the amazing team here. My only regret is not staying closer to Playa Sosúa, because I would have loved to dive more with Divecenter Merlin. I'll definitely be returning, and this is now my go-to shop for future dives!

Friendly & professional German-speaking diving school. Easy contact via e-mail or WhatsApp, reliably organized transfer from and back to Cabarete to the hotel, well-kept equipment, professional and cordial support of the dives. Not sure about the dates. I suggest you contact them directly. They speak english Jurgen is the person that runs the place They are the most helpful and friendliest dive shop I have dove with. My son and I were there in June of this year and had a blast.....Trust me....These are the best people to dive with in Sosua.....I hope this helps...
