Not that well advertised but found it on google maps!!!
park up on the street near the cavern entrance and save your money. Go through the wood and then onto the tower for an unexpected treat with great views. You can even go up it for free. Come down the other side and the circular route will make it 2 miles top. If in Buxton and have some free time do it and you won’t be disappointed

Beautiful views are worth the relatively short walk with young children. Map (provided) offers different exploring options to keep kids entertained. We opted for shortest walk, being 25 minutes. Some steep stairs but 3 and 5 year old able to navigate easily.
This is a great, free activity and so close to town. Definitely recommend.

Amazing view point, well marked and good paths. Tower was open and a few steps up gave an even bigger view. The car park has an honesty box, there was a coffee truck there too. Well worth a look.

My sister and I visited this attraction over the bank holiday week , we trekked from Buxton via the pavillion gardens down to Poole's cavern and up to the temple. It was drizzly and many steps to climb ,a bit of a hike but well worth the visit.

The temple itself is okay, you can climb to the top and the views are quite lovely!
We walked from Poole's Cavern through the woods which was a fairly easy walk.
There are cows about though so be aware if you aren't particularly fond of them or have dogs.

We chose to go up the geology walk (Yellow trail) as this appeared to be the easiest way with our youngest being in a lightweight buggy.
Apart from the initial steps, which were easily navigated, the route was accessible with the buggy and well worth the climb.
Both children enjoyed the woodland trail; spotting wildlife, looking at the flora and fungi, the fossil wood carvings and Charlie Limeburner.
The views from atop Dim Low are simply beautiful and Solomon's Temple is worth the effort of the walk.
Definitely worth the walk and a lovely Sunday afternoon activity, especially if you treat yourself to a warm drink a something to eat from the cafe afterwards!

Solomon's Temple, also known as the First Temple, is a Temple in Jerusalem believed to have existed between the 10th and 6th centuries BCE ...so why is it that this by the same name, exists.
Solomon's Temple, also known as Grinlow Tower, is a Victorian folly on the summit of Grin Low hill...and before you ask... :) Follies are garden buildings and structures designed to enhance and enliven the surrounding landscape.
On 23 February 1894, a meeting at Buxton Town Hall decided to rebuild a landmark tower that had been built by Solomon Mycock, of the Cheshire Cheese Hotel, in the early 19th century, and of which only a few stones remained. The Local Board vice-chairman had talked with the seventh Duke of Devonshire's agent and decided that the reconstruction was feasible if the townspeople would donate sufficient money.
In 1894, the seventh Duke of Devonshire subscribed £25 towards building the folly. Buxton had already subscribed £50. The foundation stone was laid by Colonel Sidebottom, M.P., on 31 May 1896, witnessed by a large crowd, and the tower was opened by Victor Cavendish in September 1896.
There are a few reasons to visit the temple... exercise! Ha ha... I know... whatever! But on a serious note, there were many walkers doing the walk. But I feel the best reason to do it is to climb the tower and enjoy the 360 degree views from the top... but even if you are afraid of heights, you can stand at it's base and be captivated by those views. I am terrified of heights, but I still climbed the stairs to take those views in... which means if I can do it... you may be able to as well.
I am so glad I visited it... I considered NOT walking up there, but when in Rome one should do as the Roman's do... well in Buxton... this is where the locals walk and you will see why when you get there.

It was a long and windy walk but when you get there the reward of fantatsic views is well worth it. It's a steady climb but there are plenty of benches for those that need a rest.

Well worth the climb up the hill for the marvellous views from the top of the tower. Nice walk through the forest before you reach the stile to begin the walk up. Worth a visit if in the area
