Hi, The turtles nest all year around, but the high season is during the middle of the year. There is a good chance you'll see one, but you likely won't see a beach covered in them. The reserve tries their best to find the turtles. I visited at the end of October, and was warned that there may not be any, and we saw a number at night and in the morning. Other than the two tours, there isn't a lot in the way of activities there, however.

Noi ci siamo andati ai primi di Dicembre, e ci é stato detto che la stagione ideale era appena terminata (coincide all'incirca con l'estate, fino all'inizio dell'autunno da quanto ci hanno detto). Tuttavia siamo stati fortunati perché abbiamo visto 5 tartarughe che stavano deponendo le uova. Spettacolo indimenticabile e davvero emozionante.

We did not stay at the hotel so we had to call, and I did get through when calling from in Oman. What the hotel said to do was to arrive at the hotel for 7pm, pay your entry to join a tour group, and then we all had to wait in the hotel lobby to see if the guides had located turtles nesting etc. But the tour is not guaranteed, even after you pay for your ticket. But we were lucky, the conditions were perfect at about 9:30pm and the guides took us out in groups of about 15 tourists. It was fabulous and totally worth the very frustrating wait. But the hotel should answer their phones as it is a very lovely hotel and very well professionally run nature reserve. We saw baby turtles emerging from the sand and running for the sea, and mother turtles digging their nests and then laying their 100 eggs! Do not miss this experience whatever you do. Keep trying the telephone number for the hotel, and if you can stay at the hotel as it looks awesome!

I believe it is possible to see turtles all year, but the best month is August when there can be 100 per night! We were there in April and saw 2 at night, and 1 in the early morning. Best to contact the centre to check.

This is turtle season from May till Oct . There are two option either to stay at Turtle beach reserves or you can stay at SUR or Ras AL Hadd (Turtle beach resort). Turtle beach reserve is 1 hour drive where as from Ras al Hadd is 30 min drive. You can contact this number to do your booking at Turtle Reserve for turtle watching. 99007709

Dear Sir, Thanks for the appropriate question. The best time to reach Ras Al Jinz is in the late afternoon or evening as the program will start in the evening . But you must settle in the accommodation before that and get refreshed. But as per my personal knowledge. best time to visit is in the summers. after Feb. (Mar-July). You can go around there. Once the dinner is over in the well planned restaurant over there and the staff will take you to the beach in the late evening around 2130 hours to show how the Turtles come and start digging the holes.Then the program will be next early morning about 0400 hours when you will see how they are covering-laying their eggs and then proceeding to the sea and you will have one of the wonderful sunrise with birds and the turtles around you.Good photography session in the morning which you will always cherish.
