Awesome Guides & Crew and Amazing Experience

I've been meaning to write this review since our return in Sept. 2022! But, life keep intervening with one thing or another.

That my family (including 2 teens) and I still treasure our Macchu Picchu hike of a year ago really says a lot. We can't say enough good things about our guides Rudy and Aldo. They were fantastic in encouraging and explaining along the way, and were just the right amount of calm, firmness, and fun. The crew of 16 cooked delicious meals, set up camp, cleaned up after us, and greeted us with nice basins of hot water at the end of our long hikes. They were truly priceless!

We also were very lucky to have a great group of people on our 4 day hike. Everyone got along nicely, and we shared good laughs and stories. The hike through the diverse landscape, learning about the Inca civilization, and visiting one of the Wonders of the World was a true experience of a lifetime.

My family and I highly recommend this hike, especially with Rudy and Aldo as guides, with Valencia Travel!

Genrri our guide was lovely and took good care of us on the gruelling but absolutely stunning trek! The porters are something else - absolute superheroes. Everything was really well organised - would recommend. If you’re hesitating about doing the longer hike - DO IT! The views are SO WORTH IT!

Inca Trail in July 2023

Must do! Inca trail is exactly what you expect and more. It is fun and rightfully challenging. There's some great flora and fauna to explore and visiting any Inca site is always an unreal experience (and we visited many of them along the way).

Further, I had a great experience with Valencia Travel. Genrri, who was our guide, is knowledgeable and fun and took care of things whenever necessary. Our chef on the trail, Feliciano was wonderful and cooked us a great mix of things and along with Benjamin, who helped setting up the table and was cheerful. And lastly, the team of porters, led by head porter Hilario was immense.

Unforgettable Inca Trail Hike

Genry was a brilliant tour guide, checking that we were all ok and giving us information along the way. The experience itself was unbeatable and we had a brilliant four days trekking the Inca Trail. Everything was very slick and well organised.
The team of porters were brilliant - our chef, Feliciano, made us brilliant food every day for breakfast lunch and dinner and we were greeted with a hot beverage from our tents each morning! Our waiter, Benjamin, was hugely attentive and charming, and our Head Porter, Hilario, ensured everything was set up and put away promptly. We were encouraged after each hike and given a cold drink when we arrived to camp. A real group effort.

Would recommend !

Experience of a lifetime!

Hiking in the Andes has always been on the bucket list. I can sincerely say that hiking the Inca trail into Machu Picchu was a once in a lifetime experience! We lucked out with the weather, which was pretty much perfect the entire time other than the first few hours of the first day when it was misting. Honestly the trek into Machu Picchu was even better than visiting the sanctuary itself. Experiencing the 400 year old trail that goes through 7 different ecosystems made every day special and unique. The archeological sites along the way to Machu Picchu were incredible, and worth visiting on their own merit!

Our entire experience with Valencia was fantastic! Vivian who helped us with our booking was a delight to work with, and promptly answered any questions we had. Once we arrived in Cusco we were completely taken care of until we left (including painless airport transfers). The staff on the trek were next level. Genuinely wonderful people. Genrri, our guide, was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. You can tell that he's just a good human being, that loves his job and wants to make sure that your adventure is the best that it can be. We're so glad that Genrri took us on our trek. We can't thank him enough. The food on the trek was amazing, and way beyond our expectations. The first, and probably last, time that we've ever had fresh French fries or pizzas multiple days into a camping trip. This was in no small part due to Fredy, the head chef, who never disappointed and constantly ensured everyone was well fed and hydrated. All the porters were extremely friendly, and a great time to be around! Fortunato was a great leader that kept everyone motivated and happy throughout the entire trip!

A++++ adventure / trip / vacation. Would do again in a heartbeat!

Amazing organization, from start to finish it was a great experience! The trek was tough but we had the support from our amazing tour guide Yenrri. The food prepared by the chef was delicious, the views spectacular and the whole experience 100% worth it!! Would definitely recommend

Hugo is the Inca Trail’s best ambassador
Our four day trek to Macchu Picchu was a bucket list check off for my husband and me. We spent three days before the hike in Cusco which we would highly recommend to allow for altitude acclimation. Our visit coincided with the town’s week long celebration of Quechuan culture which was very fortunate timing for us - the parades and festivities made our time here very special. Cusco is a great place to walk the streets, eat, drink coffee, eat chocolate and do some shopping! While you are sightseeing, you are acclimating to the altitude which is going to be a good thing when hike day comes. Our guide for the trail was Hugo and I can’t think of any way he could have been a better ambassador for his people and their culture with his genuine love for sharing the ancient history of the Incan period as well as current day life in the Cusco/Sacred Valley area. He was interesting, engaging, intelligent, and charming. The trail itself was a highlight of the trip. Thousands of stone steps, up and down, gave us a good work out but the hike is very doable for anyone in reasonable shape. It’s not the mileage but the altitude that is the biggest factor. And you start early and finish in time to get good rest for the next day. Tents are comfy and spacious. Porters are awesome and the chef and his assistant prepare tasty meals each day. I advise you bring a water purifier type drinking bottle (we used the Water To Go brand) as it just feels good to know your water is safe as you do need to stay well hydrated. Take several soles per day in coin form for bathroom facilities along the trail. More if you want drinks and snacks available at the several villages you will pass through as you walk the trail. Coming through the Sun Gate and catching that first glimpse of MP is a thrill we will not soon forget. Thank you, Hugo for teaching us so much more about this area and its people than any history class ever could. You made a special trip even more so and you are exactly what a terrific guide should be.

Amazing Inka Trail trek with Genrri

We had a magical hike on the Inka Trail with our fantastic guide, Genrri. He has a deep knowledge of the history of the Inka sites and shared his love of the beauty of the Andes. He was also very sensitive to our limitations as we acclimated to the altitude and knew when we needed to take breaks. At the same time, he managed to keep us on schedule.

And the food was delicious, thanks to our great chef, Feliciano. We were amazed at the yummy food that he could prepare on a propane stove. Seriously, if I ate that food in a restaurant, I would tell all my friends to go. The whole team ensured that our trek was was a top notch experience.

The Inka Trail itself is incredible. The mountains are breathtaking, and we got to see incredible Inka sites that can only be reached on foot. This is something everyone should do at least once.

Valencia Travel made everything super easy. Vivian answered all all our questions and ensured that we had a trek that met all our needs. I highly recommend them.

It was amazingly tough and incredibly fun! Fantastic views and times I’ll never forget! Oscar, our guide was awesome. Informative and very patient! The food was such a surprise I can’t even believe it! We had a freakin cake on in day three! Not sure how he pulled it off but it was great! The porters were energetic and amazing at moving the camps and having them ready for us each day! So many good things to say about this group and this company! Highly recommend!

I have just returned from doing the Inca trail.i chose Valencia travel Cusco because of good reviews on Trip Advisor...I wasn't disappointed!.
My Guide was Frank, a really nice ,friendly, helpful guy.Very knowledgeable about the Inca trail, Machu Pichu, the Inca civilisation and of Peru itself.
The team of porters employed by Valencia are so hard working, always aiming to help in what ever way they can.very smiley friendly bunch of guys.
The cook was Freddie and boy can he cook!! He's a magician!! He provided some outstanding food .
So if your thinking if doing the Inca trail? You won't go wrong with Valencia..ask for Frank and Freddie.
It was a truly great experience, one I've waited most if my life to do and this team helped me achieve it
