We recently spent Memorial Day weekend camping here at this private campground. It is near Grand Rapids, Michigan. The location is very convenient for accessing attractions in GR, or mid-western side of MI. The Rogue and Grand Rivers meet here, and is convenient for canoeing, boating, tubing etc. We could not do this however, due to winds and rain. There are several golf courses nearby. The campground has very clean restrooms. They have nice green grass, and large shade trees. However, their lake is not what is described in the brochure, the same with the beach, playground, and get-togethers. The rib cookout they had was not what we had expected-we thought this was a chance to socialize with other campers under the pavilion-it was not. The pavilion has very little seating, and is quite messy. There are also ping pong tables (in bad shape) under the pavilion, as well as some other games. The gardening needs to be better maintained, and the roads are pretty bad-especially after it rains! They said they run a tight ship-but there was lots of noise after the 10-ll PM Quiet Time, a lot of dogs barking, and no one was at the gate except on Sunday. The owners are very friendly. They escort you to your site, but we had waited for several minutes as instructed, and no one came, so off we went on our own, in the dark. The did find us and talk to us, giving some advice and showing us where the water hookups were etc. So, convenient for being tourists, not so great if you are in the campground all the time.. …
